Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.

Huddled in masses
some strangers stopped to ask us
If we were lonely too
we answered the truth -
We are hugging each other
to fight off the fear of
playing the fool

Turns out the great parade
was another masquerade
I was holding onto you
when you spoke the truth -
We could never love each other
when there are so many others
for you to cling on to
